Armed Security Guard Training in Kansas

In the state of Kansas, the licensing requirements for armed security guards are governed by the city. These requirements can vary from city to city and you must go through the local City Hall of your particular city. There are however statewide requirements that must be met.

Basic Requirements for Armed Security Guard Kansas

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a United States citizen or legal resident alien
  • No convictions or history of drug or alcohol use
  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Have good moral character
  • Have not committed any acts of fraud
  • Submit to fingerprinting
  • Kansas state driver’s License
  • Good physical conditioning
  • Attend and pass a Kansas state certified training course
  • Must have additional firearms training (the required amount varies per city)

  2. I presently reside in Oklahoma so I have an Oklahoma driver license. Can I complete a training class & then get my Kansas drivers license ? Once I completed the basic training then I would relocate to Kansas. I was born & raised in Kansas & wish to return . I am basicaly wanting to know when in this process I would have to procure the Kansas driver license.

  3. Question. ..the qualifications list mentioned alcohol use. Will you please specify what that means? Additionally, I have a Kansas Concealed Carry License as well as 5 years Active Duty in the US Army. What other training would I need to obtain?
