  9. @Bryan, the state of Missouri does not require a security guard license, it falls down to individual cities and towns. I know Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Louis all require city licenses. I have worked security for over 10 years in the state of Missouri prior to and after my tenure in the military. If you want advice on the best way to advance and get training in a security field I would at least get an Associates Degree in either Criminal Justice, Emergency Services Management, Homeland Security, or Security Management. For training purposes, even if you already have CPR or a CCW card you will have to attend training at whatever company you work for in most instances. One other thing that will assist in your career as security, EMT certification. I know that there is several companies that look for EMT trained S/O’s and pay very well. Normal rates of pay (in my experience) for somebody just starting out is between $8.50 to $9.00 per hour. If you have the degree, CPR, CCW, EMT-B, EMT-P, or even First Responder you can start out as much as $15.00 per hour. Good luck.

  10. I have worked for several companies like Pinkerton-Burns, Burns International, Securitas USA, and G4S. In my experience and opinion, G4S has the best training available. Even after your initial 2-3 day training session upon hire, the company has a training portal that you can log in to and complete hundreds of various courses (ALL FOR FREE) for certification(s), some of which are worth college credits. There are even links to free FEMA, DHS, and DOJ training courses.

  11. HOW much does a security guard card (classes) COST? I live in Barnhart

  12. I am in need of cost for the armed training for Missouri

  13. In st. Louis city and county as well as st. Charles county due to charter government you must be licensed they have the classes you need to get the licences as part of the process. you will need a letter from your employer to sign on to the classes and get your licence.
but in many counties there is no requirement. to get a security job.. that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get some,
you need to know what level of Physical, Fire, Medical, materials hazards the site you will work on will require and work on training from that. read OSHA brochures, [#3336+], look at FEMA “emi isp” independent studies program in Emergency Managment.
For your safety get what training you are able to based on your duties.
